Did someone genuinely say, "Take it easy on us, Toke"? At this juncture, no one can fault them.
Toke Makinwa has been favoring her tidy pixie cut, wearing it with a regularity that has become part of her allure. However, her outfits continue to evolve. One moment she is adorned in vibrant prints from the recently concluded Lagos Fashion Week; the next, she radiates in a pink beaded corset dress.
Most recently, she attended Tomike Adeoye’s Olori Ebi end-of-year celebration, and her appearance sparked conversations for all the right reasons. The asoebi for the occasion featured a blue-and-white fabric, and Toke opted for a fitted mini dress with sculptural details that enhanced the outfit's visual impact. The sleeves showcased much of the artistry — large balloon shapes, with one side slightly lowered.
At the hem, on one side, there was a blue beaded fringe that introduced a subtle edge without detracting from the overall polished look. She kept her accessories understated to allow the dress to take center stage, pairing it with sky-blue mules and a white clutch. And, of course, her pixie cut — now styled in gentle waves — brought everything together with an effortless sophistication.
